With great honor and emotional significance, our Scientific Director, Mr. Efthimios Kouloulas, Physiatrist, retired Captain, and Scientific Director of the PM&R Department at IASO Thessalias, participated in the scientific program of the 27th Armed Forces Medical Congress, attended by distinguished experts and renowned scientists—leaders in their specialties—who have contributed significantly to the advancement of their fields both in Greece and internationally.
The Scientific Committee of the Congress evaluated and approved the oral presentation of two clinical cases from our Unit, showcasing innovative and specialized rehabilitation services in the field of Regenerative Medicine and Rehabilitation. The congress, titled “Healthcare in the Armed Forces: A Note of Optimism for the Future and Society”, took place in Thessaloniki from October 18 to 20, 2018, at the Makedonia Palace Hotel, and was at the heart of the Greek Armed Forces’ medical community.
This event is considered the largest multidisciplinary congress in the country and the most important for the Armed Forces medical personnel, with over a thousand registered participants. It serves as the premier platform to showcase the work of military healthcare, which extends beyond hospitals or military units and carries a broad societal impact.
In addition to presenting his scientific work, Dr. Kouloulas, now retired, had the joy of reuniting with former classmates and active-duty colleagues from the Armed Forces.
